Will a UK Refurbished iPhone Work in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Russia? Network Bands Explained
5G, VoLTE and carrier bands for Etisalat, du, STC, Mobily, Zain, MTS, MegaFon, Beeline and Tele2 — plus which iPhone models are fully compatible.

Will a UK Refurbished iPhone Work in the Gulf and Russia?
Short answer: yes, unlocked iPhones sold in the UK work on every major Middle Eastern and Russian carrier — but there are a few details worth knowing so you get full 5G, VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling.
The iPhone model matters
Apple sells the same iPhone hardware in the UK and in the Gulf / Russia (model numbers A3081, A3083 etc. for iPhone 16, and similar for iPhone 15 / 14 / 13). All support the LTE and 5G bands used regionally:
- Bands n1, n3, n7, n28, n38, n40, n41, n78 — cover Etisalat, du, STC, Mobily, Zain, Ooredoo across the Gulf.
- Bands n7, n78, n79 — cover MTS, MegaFon, Beeline, Tele2 in Russia.
Every iPhone from the iPhone XS onward that we sell has these bands.
VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling
- UAE (Etisalat / du): VoLTE + VoWiFi work out of the box on unlocked iPhones from iOS 16+.
- Saudi Arabia (STC / Mobily / Zain): VoLTE works; VoWiFi may require a carrier settings update after inserting the SIM.
- Russia (MTS / MegaFon / Beeline / Tele2): VoLTE is enabled once the carrier profile downloads — usually within a minute of first SIM activation.
eSIM
All iPhone 14 and newer models sold globally (except US variants) support eSIM alongside a physical SIM. This is very useful in the Gulf for keeping a home line + a local data plan.
What to check before buying
1. Confirm the listing says "Unlocked" — every Furbishmarket iPhone is factory unlocked. 2. Check the model year matches your carrier's 5G rollout. 3. For dual-SIM users in the Gulf, prefer iPhone 13 or newer for eSIM support.
